Vehicle tunnels

Vehicle underpasses can be manufactured in either helibore pipe (up to 3.6m span/diameter), or bolted plate (up to 12m span/diameter). The common profiles are underpass, pipe or arch.

A sealant gasket or gunned mastic can be incorporated in the plate and overlaps of the bolted plate systems to ensure a high degree of watertightness. The invert is normally paved with either blacktop or concrete to provide an even walking surface. The inside surface can be painted with anti graffiti paint.

Corrugated steel crash barriers are usually mounted internally along the sides and at the mouth of the structure to protect against collision damage.
